ENDOSCOPIC FOREHEAD LIFT
The development of Endoscopic procedures in recent times has been one of the most important breakthroughs in modern Cosmetic Surgery, and Doctor Pat is one of the country’s leading specialist surgeons in the field.
Significantly less invasive than the traditional head and face treatments, endoscopic treatments provide more natural and longer lasting results by lifting and refreshing the muscles and tissue layers that give faces their naturally firm and youthful appearance.
Prior to surgery Doctor Pat will consult with prospective patients, to determine expectations and to explain the procedure, including possible after-effects. This will also help the Doctor assess the patients’ suitability for an Endoscopic Forehead Lift, and advice on likely results.
Under local or general anesthetic (to be decided at the pre-operative consultancy), three or four small, discreet incisions are made, above the hairline or behind the ears. A small probe, equipped with a camera, is inserted through one of the incisions and the Doctor is able to see the procedure on a monitor as he works. Small, specialized surgical instruments are introduced through the remaining incisions and used to remove excess fatty tissue and reshape muscles and tissue in the forehead area that have loosened over time. The incisions are then sutured closed.
Without the need for traditional invasive techniques, recovery time is faster, with a lower risk of complications, and there is minimal scar visibility.
Although patients can return to their place of residence following surgery, they will need to return to the clinic after 5 – 7 days for the removal of stitches.
Mild pain and discomfort may be experienced post-operation, for which prescription pain medication can be used. Some degree of swelling can be expected, but this is only temporary.
